The Jacob & Co. Astronomia AT150.40.AC.SD.A is a horological spectacle that redefines the boundaries of traditional watchmaking, introduced in 2018 as part of the brand’s iconic Astronomia collection. Housed in a 50mm sapphire and 18k rose gold case, this timepiece offers a full panoramic view of its mesmerizing inner workings, protected by a domed sapphire crystal that wraps around the sides for uninterrupted visibility. At its heart is a gravitational triple-axis tourbillon, which rotates on three separate axes to counteract the effects of gravity, creating a ballet of constant motion.
Surrounding the tourbillon are three additional arms mounted on a rotating carrier: a magnesium lacquered globe representing Earth, a rotating diamond-cut sphere symbolizing the moon, and a subdial for hours and minutes that remains upright thanks to an ingenious differential system. This timepiece is powered by both an automatic movement and the manual-winding JCAM10 caliber. The manual movement completes a full rotation every 20 minutes and offers a 60-hour power reserve. The Astronomia AT150.40.AC.SD.A is not just a timepiece—it’s a kinetic sculpture that fuses astronomy, fine watchmaking, and high jewelry into one unforgettable creation.
